Therefore, the working principle of weMessage is apparent: It transmits the iMessage received in Mac to your Android phone through other communication protocol and the iMessage from Android will be sent out via the server on Mac semi-automatically. It seems the working principle is easy, but the installation procedure is not easy in the same way.

  • Download the weMessage to the Android device from the Play Store. Then download and configure weServer on the Mac.
  • Go to the Preferences On Mac > Security & Privacy > Privacy. Click on the small lock on the bottom left corner to input the password to unlock.
  • Navigate to Accessibility in the left menu bar and tick the Terminal.
  • Open the Terminal and enter java-version to ascertain the version of OpenJDK is not lower than 7 .x.
  • In the weMessage folder, open the run.command file and then enter your Apple ID and passcode to the terminal window and it will show “weServer started”.
  • Go back to the Preferences On Mac > Network, and you can see the Mac’s IP address, record it.
  • Open the weMessage app on your Android phone, follow the instructions and input the Mac’s IP address, Apple ID and passcode to sign in.
